Filipino-owned company Global Electric Transport officials present to Senators Miguel Zubiri and Win Gatchalian an electric vehicle, dubbed as the Comet, a 30-passenger bus that is PWD-accessible. Engine, batteries and the charging app are provided by QEV Tech of Spain which specializes in Formula-e racing. On a full charge, the Comet can run up to 80 km. 80 percent charging is accomplished in 20 minutes spent or end-of-life batteries are returned to the supplier which they use for other functions other than running a vehicle. The current model, COMET2, which has a route operating at SM North to Katipunan via Congressional Avenue will soon be phased out to be replaced by COMET3.
