Basilan nails 3rd straight MPBL win

Basilan blasted expansion squad Mindoro, 105-89, to pick up its third straight win and continue its rise in the MPBL Lakan Season.

The Jumbo Plastic-backed Steel came out more aggressive, scoring 62 points inside the shaded lane while also forcing their rivals to commit 28 turnovers.

 That resulted to 44 turnovers by Mindoro as Basilan notched its sixth win in nine games and moved up to fourth spot in the southern division of this tournament put up by Senator Manny Pacquiao with PBA legend and former MVP Kenneth Duremdes serving as commissioner.

 Six players ended up in double figures for Basilan, which shot 48-percent from the field (44-of-90) and limited the Mac Baracael-less Mindoro team to just 36-percent shooting (26-of-71).

 Like Basilan, Caloocan also picked up its third straight win, this after the Victory Liner-backed squad dumped the Bacolod-Master Sardines, 89-74.
