On to the SEA Games

The Standard Insurance Duathlon Team earned the right to represent the country in the 30th SEA Games in November after sweeping the recent Philippine Duathlon Series III at the Subic Bay Freeport Zone. The men’s elite team captured the top three places, while the women’s elite placed first and third for the last qualifying round. The Philippine team is managed by Standard Insurance Group Chairman Ernesto “Judes” Echauz (center) and coached by Melvin Fausto and Bernie Llantada. Joining them are Robeno Javier, Jarwin Banatao, Doy Comendador, Monica Torres and Pawie Fornea. The team, which recently also swept the Singapore National Duathlon, will see action in the Malaysia Trifactor this September as a tuneup for the SEA Games.
