Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya—Various infrastructure projects are being done at the Region 2 Trauma and Medical Center as part of its preparation to expand from a 200 to 500-bed capacity medical center.
Dr. Napoleon Obania, R2TMC chief said the infrastructure projects are improvements and construction of additional buildings such as the Dietary Building, four-storey Training Center Building, two-story Pharmacy Building, Diabetes Control Center, and the renovation of the Obstetrics and Pediatrics Wards.
He said the Pharmacy Building is being built at the back of the Out Patient Department building while the Diabetes Control Center will be constructed near the TB Dots Building.
The Psychiatry Building which will cater to psychiatric and behavioral patients is now opened at the right side of the OPD building, the hospital chief added.
Obania said the four-story TCB at the left side of the OPD Building is nearing completion. It will house the hemodialysis, canteen and conference hall at the first floor, staff and visitors’ dormitory on the second floor and an auditorium at the fourth floor.
Also in the pipeline is the construction of the Magnetic Resonance Imaging Building and a gymnasium.
“The construction of these buildings which started last year are part of the improvement and expansion of the R2TMC as required under Republic Act 11081 which was signed by President Rodrigo Duterte in 2018,” Obania said.
