Candidates in Ifugao province in the Cordilleras mock the beauty of the rice terraces—declared as UNESCO heritage sites—with the placement of their campaign materials in the open fields. Despite the rules on the placement of campaign material on common posting areas only, many have turned a deaf ear to the COMELEC ban.
