Back in the Philippines, I used to save stray dogs and cats.
When I see them on the streets hungry, I would take them home with me and feed them, and make them strong and keep them. At one point, I had 10 dogs and 10 cats.
When I moved to the U.S., I developed severe allergic reaction to pollen. It took me a while to get my dear dog Polly, as I worked on building my immunity to dust, pollen and dander.
However, a week into having her, I had an anaphylactic response to the pollen she brought with her back home. Heartbroken, we had to bring her back to her foster who eventually adopted her.
The officers of Save Animals of Love and Light Inc. (Save ALL) have the same love for animals as I do. I have seen first hand how they care for the rescued dogs and cats.
So to commemorate my dear Polly, I decided to raise funds on behalf of Save ALL rescues. I have all these helpless and voiceless dogs and cats to inspire me as I do my very first Olympic distance triathlon.
The Tri-Miami triathlon is on May 19, 2019 and will be held in Key Biscayne, FL.
Every mile I swim, bike and run will be dedicated to these loving animals that Save ALL rescues. They need all the help we can give them to provide them a fighting chance to have a good life.
Save ALL has rescued about 425 animals in need—injured or dying on the streets and dog pounds, and abandoned or neglected by irresponsible owners.
Save All has also had more than 300 dogs and cats spayed or neutered to help lessen animal population in the Philippines. This helps lessen the number of strays who are so miserable alone on the streets, hungry and even hurt by cruel people.
All these in five years since Save ALL was created.
