What do PBA stars in their off-season?
For the Alaska Aces, who bowed out of the ongoing PBA Philippine Cup, it’s teaching children to play basketball in the Alaska Milk Basketball Powercamp at the Ateneo De Manila University covered courts.
Chris Banchero, who led the PBA in assists the past conference, said there is no better feeling than teaching children.
“It’s the best feeling. Helping the younger generation play basketball. It’s (basketball) taken me this far. Taken me all the way here to be in another country. It’s good to watch them (children) play basketball. It’s good to see the young kids come out here,” said Banchero.
The Alaska Aces, including Banchero, Vic Manuel, Ping Exciminiano, Jake Pascual, Yutien Andrade among others, took time from their busy schedule to be with about 300 children who attended the Manila hoop camp.
The Alaska Powercamp teaches more than basketball skills. It also instills the value of discipline, perseverance, teamwork and determination and teaches the importance of proper nutrition for the growth and development of the camp participants.
PBA Legend Jeff Cariaso leads a team of coaches who teach campers how to become better basketball players.
Participants will learn theoretical and practical lessons and undergo intensive drills but with their safety and well-being as top priority.
There will also be a camp at the Trinity Christian School May 9 to 16 in Bacolod City
To register in the Bacolod camp just P2,500 worth of any Alaska products (50 percent of total must be Alaska Fortified Powdered Milk Drink or Alaska Chocolate Powdered Milk Drink).

The Alaska Basketball Powercamp offers a holistic program and teaches not just the skills in the sport but also lessons on the value of proper nutrition for growth and development as well as important lessons to help children become productive members of the community.
