Ikebana International Manila Chapter 108 recently celebrated its 52nd anniversary with an exhibition and free demonstrations at Edsa Shangri-La on March 22 to 24.
On display were floral arrangements created by its members, the Embassy of Japan, and Ikebana Philippine chapters from Cebu, Cagayan de Oro, and Davao. Some of which were displayed on Lalique crystals and vases.
Madame Ihoko Haneda, spouse of the Ambassador of Japan, headed the traditional “lighting of sulo” to mark the opening of the exhibit on March 21. Free demonstrations by certified Ikebana teachers were held on March 23 and 24.
Ikebana is the Japanese art of floral arrangement.
