Digital learning

Public schools in the remote barangays of Hugpa, Mahayahay, and Inaad in Ormoc, Leyte were nominated by the Department of Education to receive a School-in-a-Bag digital learning kit each, donated by the PLDT-Smart Foundation. Each kit (as pictured, right) contains a teacher’s laptop, Smart pocket Wi-Fi, projector, DVD player, and tablets pre-loaded with interactive content, including mobile applications in Filipino, Cebuano and other local languages, developed in partnership with the DepEd and academic institutions. Since 2016, Smart and partner donors like PSF have donated 112 School-in-a-Bag units to various schools nationwide, benefitting over 30,000 students and 1,000 teachers.
