Engineer Perfecto Urban, acting chief of the DPWH second district here, said the fund will be used for the continuation of the road’s pavement within the province.

He said an estimated 16 kilometers of the 41-km road project within the province has been concretely paved.

“The 41-kilometer portion of the Aritao-Carranglan alternate route is only located in our province. The rest of the road will be done by the DPWH in Nueva Ecija,” Urban added.

Once completed, the project will ease traffic for commuters plying the national highway in Sta. Fe town, he said.

The Aritao-Carranglan alternate road was started in 2012 with yearly funding allocations from the DPWH.

Last year, the project was also funded with P20 million, Urban said.

The Sta. Fe Proper-Dalton Pass area has become a heavy traffic area in Nueva Vizcaya because of landslides caused by strong rains and typhoons, vehicular accidents, and mechanical problems among overloaded cargo trucks using the road.
