A main attraction in the collision between NorthPort and Columbian is the renewal of rivalry between top pick CJ Perez and No.3 pick Robert Bolick, who faced off in the last two NCAA Finals, playing for Lyceum and San Beda, respectively.

One of the main reasons why NorthPort is enjoying a rousing start is the play of Bolick.

The No. 3 overall pick has been living up high expectations thus far.

Bolick is averaging 20 points per game in two starts.

He was key in both wins of the Batang Pier against Blackwater and NLEX.

“Si Bolick, he really fits well with the team,” said NorthPort coach Pido Jarencio. “Bukod sa alam natin ang kaya ‘nung bata, maganda ‘yung chemistry niya rin with our veterans.”

Heading to his team’s date with the Dyip, Jarencio cited a key reason why his team is having early success.

“Kasi, ang maganda now is we’re no longer all about Stanley (Pringle) and Sean Anthony. Everyone, nag-step-up talaga,” Jarencio added.

After dropping their initial assignments, the Beermen and the Bolts have since bounced back by winning their last games.
