During this season of giving, the Alsons Power Group is donating 500 copies of "I Can Finally Read" – a literacy teaching guide – to public elementary schools in communities around the group's power plants in Iligan, Sarangani and Zamboanga City. The manual, authored by Julie Weygan-Aparato, will help, will help the Mindanao-based teachers in building a community-based literacy program and raise level of reading ability among the students. Alsons Power, Mindanao's first and most experienced independent power producer, currently operates four power facilities providing electricity to around eight million people in 13 cities and eight provinces in Mindanao.
