192 Navoteño families get new homes

The Navotas City Government has given safe shelter to some 192 Navoteño families who have been living in danger areas.

Mayor John Rey Tiangco and Rep. Toby Tiangco, together with Engr. Juancho Corpuz of National Housing Authority, Brgy. Chairperson Rochelle Vicencio and other city officials, led the blessing and inauguration of five buildings of the NavotaAs Homes Tanza II at Brgy. Tanza 2.

“We want every Navoteño family to live and be in a safe environment. That is why we strive to provide them with homes where they can stay free from worries for their safety,” Mayor Tiangco said.

Rep. Tiangco, on the other hand, urged residents to follow the policies laid out by the city government to keep their new community peaceful and orderly.

Before qualifying to receive a housing unit, all members of an applicant’s family need to pass a drug test. Applicants also agree to refrain from gambling or drinking alcohol inside their units or within the housing site.

Navotas has five in-city housing projects intended to keep families living along coastlines and riverbanks, or those considered danger zones, safe from harm.

The projects can shelter around 1,800 families, all of whom are required to take drug tests to ensure that housing communities are peaceful and crime-free.

The NavotaAs Homes Tanza II has eight 3-storey buildings that can accommodate 408 families.
