Davao del Norte Rep. Antonio Floirendo has filed a motion at the Sandiganbayan asking the court to allow him to travel with House Speaker Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo to Istanbul, Turkey for the Asian Parliamentary Assembly 2nd Executive Council and 11th Plenary.
Floirendo asked the anti-graft court’s Sixth Division if he may be allowed to leave the country on Nov. 27, 2018.
In filing his travel motion, Floirendo assured the anti-graft court of his return to the country on Dec. 3, 2018. He said he is not a flight risk.
“As the honorable court would appreciate, the probability of accused fleeing our judicial process is practically nonexistent with his previous travels where he has repeatedly returned,” Floirendo’s travel motion indicated.
Floirendo attached to his travel motion a copy of the invitation sent by APA Secretary General Mohammad Reza Majidi to Speaker Arroyo as well as the travel authority issued by the Office of the Speaker. “‹
