Following their relief work in the wake of several tropical storms in the past three months, officers and staff of BDO continued to extend a helping hand to disaster-stricken Filipinos in the province of Isabela.

Volunteers of the unibank recently mounted relief operations for victims of Typhoon “Rosita” as part of efforts organized by BDO Foundation.

The volunteers distributed 3,700 packs containing food, rice and water in the municipality of Roxas to help residents cope with the calamity.

The humanitarian mission, led by BDO Isabela-Roxas branch head Boyet Ballad, also saw other volunteers not from the bank in action.

BDO employees provide aid to victims of natural or man-made disasters all over the country in keeping with the disaster response advocacy of BDO Foundation, the corporate social responsibility arm of BDO Unibank.

As a follow-up to its relief efforts, the foundation pursues long-term rehabilitation and reconstruction programs in provinces hit by calamities.

The 18th to make landfall in the country this year, “Rosita” battered Isabela, forcing thousands of residents in several towns to evacuate.

Storm Signal No. 3 was raised in the province and other parts of Luzon as heavy rains, massive flooding and landslides threatened to destroy homes and infrastructure.
