GNEA recognizes top graduates from Visayas

Mark Roland Romas of University of San Jose Recoletos – Cebu and John Elmer Loretizo of Central Philippine University-Iloilo are the recipients of the 2018 GMA Network Excellence Award (GNEA).

The two achievers were conferred with the Network’s recognition for their exemplary performance in academic, leadership and social responsibility. The awarding ceremony was held at the GMA Network Center, led by GMA Network Chairman and CEO Atty. Felipe L. Gozon. The winners each received P50,000 and a plaque. 

Romas, who received the GNEA for Communication category, graduated Cum Laude from the University of San Jose Recoletos – Cebu with a Bachelor’s degree in Communication. 

He felt honored to receive the recognition as he represented the Cebuanos, “I would like to take advantage of this award and would like to use this po as a platform to speak on behalf of my fellow youth who are continuing to fight for our country. I’m sharing this award to all of them.” 

Meanwhile, Loretizo received the GNEA for the Technology-based category. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from the Central Philippine University – Iloilo with a Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering. His mother Mary Jean Loretizo accepted the award on his behalf. 

GMA Chairman and CEO Felipe L. Gozon is proud to recognize young individuals who excel in their respective fields and advocacies. 

He attests, “They are the best and the brightest, at nagdaan yan sa very rigid screening. I think they will contribute to the country using that talent.”
