House Speaker Gloria Macapagal Arroyo attended the hearing of members of the Technical Working Group of the House Committee on Ways and Means at the Linden Suites in Pasig City. Members of the said Committee are working double time on the proposed Corporate Income Tax and Incentives Reform Act, which is expected to level the playing field for big and small businesses by removing some incentives given to big firms. It is one of the priority measures of President Rodrigo Duterte. The TWG is working to complete the report on the proposed measure which is due on Tuesday, Aug. 7, 2018. Also present during the hearing were Representatives Dakila Cua, chairman. Arthur Yap, Estrellita Suansing, Horacio Suansing, Jose Enrique Garcia III, Romero Quimbo, Sharon Garin, Aurelio Gonzales, Gus Tambunting and Raneo Abu, and representatives from the Department of Finance led by Usec. Karl Kendrick Chua.
