Toyota Motors Philippines Corp. invested a total of P58 billion and sold 1.5 million vehicles in the past 30 years.
TMPC disclosed the important milestones during the company’s 30th-anniversary celebration Wednesday night at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Bonifacio Global City.
The company said it was looking at increasing sales to 180,000 units this year. Sales in the first half reached 73,146 units.
TMPC vice president for marketing Jose Mari Atienza said the 2018 sales target would be achievable given the traditional surge in sales in the second half.
Toyota maintained its industry leadership with about 38.2-percent market share as of end-June 2018.
The dealership is estimated to expand to 70 across all regions from the current 67, including Lexus Manila Inc.
The company’s contribution to government revenues is estimated to have reached P13.6 billion since 1997. Autoparts exports also amounted to $23.6 billion since 1997. Procurement from local suppliers reached P182 billion.
Toyota is supporting almost 200,000 employees comprising of office and production staff.
Toyota Motor Corp. president Akio Toyoda presented the Japanese company’s donation of 10 units of Innova and 20 units of Vios to President Rodrigo Duterte during the anniversary celebration.
Toyoda said the donation affirmed the continued good relations of the company and the Philippine government.
