Ang, who graduated from FEU in 1980 with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, received the honorary degree for embodying the FEU core values of fortitude, excellence, and uprightness.

“FEU is proud to bestow this significant honor on a man of excellence, patriot and one of our own outstanding alumni,” said FEU president Dr. Michael Alba.

Spearheading nation-building projects, interconnecting transportation systems, building modern power facilities, providing world-class public utilities, Ang has raised our country’s competitiveness and helped improve the daily lives of millions, he said.

Ang continues to introduce innovations leading the San Miguel Corp. into becoming one of the nation’s largest, most diversified companies, spanning the industries of food and beverage.

As a philanthropist, he has also implemented some of the biggest corporate social responsibility initiatives in the history of Philippine business, addressing critical needs like housing, job creation, education, environmental sustainability and disaster preparedness.

FEU conferred upon Ang the honorary degree during its 90th general commencement exercises on June 27 at the Philippine International Convention Center.
