A crowd led by Sorsogon City Mayor Sally Lee waits for a huge plate of pili nut conserva, a type of candy, to cool before sharing it with the public on Tuesday. To celebrate its weeklong Pili Festival, Sorsogon attempted to set a Guinness World Record for the biggest pili nut conserva, using at least 200 kilos of the local delicacy, and managed to cook a conserva with a diameter of 4.88 meters. The record attempt, believed to be the first such try, will be sent to Guinness for validation.
