The Navotas City government has inaugurated various facilities in celebration of its 11th cityhood anniversary.
Mayor John Rey Tiangco, Vice Mayor Clint Geronimo and other city and barangay officials led the inauguration among those were Building 2 of NavotaAs Homes Tanza II at Barangay Tanza 2:; the office of the Commission on Audit at the Navotas City Hall,; the Matangbaka Linear Park and the Navotas Recovery Center at Barangay North Bay Boulevard, South Dagat-dagatan.
Building 2 has 51 units that will serve as new homes for Navoteño families currently living along waterways. Once completed, NavotaAs Homes Tanza II will be able to shelter 408 families.
The CoA office underwent improvements using minimalist design to make efficient use of space. The renovation formed part of a series of improvements of offices in the city hall.
The Matangbaka Linear Park will provide a safe space for kids in the area to play or for families to bond.
The Navotas Recovery Center will house the office of the Navotas Anti-Drug Abuse Council and serve as the venue for the counseling of participants of Bidahan, the city’s community-based treatment, and rehabilitation program.
Navotas became a city in 2007 through the efforts of then-mayor and now Lone Rep. Toby Tiangco.
