Gen. Trias donates P3m in firearms, gear to local police

General Trias City—To support the police’s intensified anti-criminality campaign, the local government of General Trias led by Mayor Antonio “Ony” Ferrer presented firearms, shields, helmets, vests, handheld radios, and batons to the local police.

The turnover was timed during the visit of Chief Supt. Edward Carranza, the new Officer-in-Charge of Police Regional Office Calabarzon.

The P3-million worth of high powered firearms and police equipment were received by Carranza, together with Senior Superintendent William Segun, Cavite Provincial Police Director, and Gen. Trias Chief of Police Supt. Paul Bometivo at the General Trias City Hall. 

It was witnessed by Cavite 6th District Rep. Luis “Jon-Jon” Ferrer IV, Vice Mayor Morit Sison, Board Member Kerby Salazar, city councilors and local police personnel.

Mayor Ferrer said the donations “find utmost importance in providing and upgrading essential operational equipment and devices for the police force of Gen. Trias to help in the fight against criminality and uphold the well-being of Gentrisenos.”

He signed the deed of donation in favor of the General Trias CCPS represented by Supt. Bometivo and other local police officials.

Carranza extended his gratitude for the generosity of the city government and mentioned that Gen. Trias is the best model for other LGUs who truly support the police in their fight against criminality. 

“It will boost the morale and welfare of the police while serving their duties,” he said. 

“I’m grateful for the unwavering support of Mayor Ferrer for the police force of Gen. Trias. You can expect that we will fight against drugs and criminals in our city and keep our place safe to live,” Bometivo said.
