Sydney Mosqueda delivered 16 points for the La Salle Greenhills Greenies as they warded off St. Patrick School, 107-77, in the junior division of the ongoing 24th Fr. Martin Cup summer tournament at the St. Placid gymnasium inside the San Beda-Mendiola campus in Manila.
Mosqueda hit seven points for the Greenies, who took control in the first period with a 27-10 lead.
The Greenies, who are the reigning junior titlists in the NCAA, went on to score their second straight win in this cagefest supported by Cocolife.
In women’s action, Valerie Mamaril and Mary Ann Bastatas showed the way for the Far Eastern University Lady Tamaraws in their 81-71 smothering of the University of the Philippines Lady Maroons.
This handed the Lady Tamaraws their first triumph in three matches.
Earlier, Gelo Batayon drilled in 19 points for the University of Perpetual Help Junior Altas in their 84-82 triumph over the San Sebastian Staglets.
Batayon’s drive and free throw in the last 14 seconds carried the Junior Altas to their fourth straight win.
Dave Balo made 17 points for the Staglets, who are the defending champions.
