Shell, Phoenix clinch Ilijan supply contracts

Power Sector Assets and Liabilities Management Corp. declared Pilipinas Shell Petroleum Corp. and Phoenix Petroleum Philippines as the winning bidders for the supply and delivery of oil-based fuel to the Ilijan natural gas and Malaya thermal power plants this year.

PSALM said in a statement Shell and Phoenix passed the post-qualification process and the technical documents they submitted.

“PSALM has issued the Notices of Award to Phoenix and Shell,” the company that manages the assets and liabilities of National Power Corp., said.

Shell submitted the lowest offer for the supply and delivery of neat diesel oil for the 1,200-megawatt Ilijan power plant in Batangas with a price of P961.161 million during the bid opening conducted on April 30. 

Phoenix, meanwhile, emerged as the lowest bidder with an offer of P1.139 billion to supply industrial fuel oil for the 650-MW Malaya thermal power plant in Rizal.

Phoenix also submitted the lowest bid for the supply and delivery of diesel oil for the Malaya plant at P47.7 million.
