‘Bidder to win old, new Clark terminals’

CLARK FREEPORT, Pampanga—The Bases Conversion Development Authority said Wednesday the winning bidder will take over the operation and maintenance of both old and new terminals of the Clark International Airport this August.

Vince Dizon, president and CEO of BCDA, said the winning concessionaire will operate both the existing terminal and the one under construction that is expected to be operational in mid-2020.

“Upon its completion and successful commissioning, the P5.61-billion new passenger terminal will be included under the operation and maintenance of the concessionaire,” Dizon said.

According to Dizon, the BCDA in partnership with the Department of Transportation has started the bidding process for operation and maintenance of the next aerial gateway of the country and to Regions I, II, III and the Cordillera Autonomous Region.

The invitation to bid was published in the major newspapers as provided by law and upon the approval of the National Economic Development Authority (NEDA) board recently.

The Php5.61 new terminal according to Dizon is still on track.

The new terminal will not only increase CRK passenger capacity from 4 million to  8 million  but will also help decongest Metro Manila from traffic.

“We have no indication of delay as it is moving full speed ahead on the second phase of the construction”, Dizon added.

A primer/information memorandum containing the general information about the project will be available to interested parties on the BCDA website.

Bidding documents for the project will be made available on May 7, 2018.
