GENERAL TRIAS CITY—The local government here led by Mayor Antonio “Ony” Ferrer will honor distinguished graduates on the 59th edition of its Gawad Parangal on May 2, Wednesday, at the General Trias Cultural and Convention Center in Barangay Sampalukan here.
Felix Dan Sangria Lopez, Vice President for Corporate Human Resources of JG Summit Holdings, will be the guest of honor and speaker of the program.
Mayor Ferrer, Cavite 6th District Rep. Luis “Jon Jon” Ferrer IV, Provincial Board members Jango Grepo and Kerby Salazar, Vice Mayor Morit Sison, and Team GenTri officials will lead the awarding ceremony of 507 awardees for Gawad Vibora, Gawad Salgado, Gawad Mojica, Gawad Labong, and Gawad Grepo awards, which started in 1959.
At least 277 awardees will be awarded in Grade School level, 130 for the High School level and 100 graduates for College division.
There are six distinguished awardees of Gawad Labong and 94 for the Gawad Grepo for the distinguished Board and Bar passers.
Gawad Parangal recognizes graduating honor students in elementary, high school and college, and cites all Board passers and national licensure examination passers.
