Lights Out

SM Malls participate in the annual Earth Hour celebration—at 8.30 p.m. Saturday—as part of a global move against climate change and the steep decline of  nature as biodiversity loss threatens the planet. At the banks of the Marikina River, hundreds of lanterns (inset) made from capiz are being lit  Saturday. Malacañang itself encouraged Filipinos to participate in this year’s Earth Hour 'to symbolize our commitment to saving Mother Earth.'
