ANOTHER exciting racing weekend, highlighted by the 2018 Philippine Racing Commission 2nd leg 3YO Local Fillies and Colts Stakes Race, is slated this Sunday at the San Lazaro Leisure Park in Carmona, Cavite.

With the prizes higher this time, a 10-horse cast will shoot for bragging rights in the stakes race to be ran in 1,500 meters and offering a total of P1,000,000 in prizes.

First-leg winner Probinsyano with jockey Mark Angelo Alvarez aboard, will shoot for a second straight win against an elite field out to deny him the top purse of P600,000.

The Napoleon Magno-owned Probinsyano will try to score a more emphatic victory this time around, after fending off the late charge of the field as he pulled off an exciting half-a-length win in the 1st leg of the 3YO Local Fillies and Colts Stakes Race last month in the same venue.

Gunning for the top prize are colts Here’s To Life (jockey EP Nahilat and owner Jose Quiros), Sotogrande (JA Guce, Dennis C. Tan) and Wonderland (Val R Dilema, Hermie Esguerra), together with fillies Easy to Win (MM Gonzales, Bingson Tecson), Perlas ng Silangan (Pat R. Dilema, Hermie Esguerra), Polilio Island (JB Hernandez, Wilbert Tan), Royal Signal (JB Guce, Peter Aguila), Smart Candy (KB Abobo, SC Stockfarm) and Misha (FM Raquel Jr., Leonardo Javier Jr.), who nearly beat Probinsyano the last time around.

Second placer in the stakes race receives P225,000, with the third and fourth placers getting P125,000 and P50,000, respectively. A breeder’s purse of P30,000 is also allotted to the winning horse.

“The country’s best three-year-old horses will be at it again on Sunday to give racing aficionados another exciting race offering,” said Philracom Chairman Andrew A. Sanchez.
