DENIED a championship last season, De Ocampo Memorial College takes another crack at the crown when it starts its bid against Olivarez College at the beginning of their Sta. Lucia Land-NCRAA men’s basketball tournament championship duel at the PATTS Gym today at the Olivarez Gym.
De Ocampo and Olivarez clash in Game 1 of their best-of-three finals series at 10 a.m.
Led by Dahrell Caranguian, the Cobras made a return trip to the finals by outlasting the Andre Paras-less AMA Online Titans, 108-106, in the semifinal round of this tournament presented by Sta. Lucia Land and supported by Bread Talk and Max’s with LGR as the official outfitter.
A strong candidate for the Most Valuable Player award, Caranguian once again presided over his team just when he needs to perform.
He finished with 26 points, including a bundle during the stretch when the Cobras rallied from 11 points down in the third period.
