As a prelude to its spring/summer 2018 collection, UK fashion brand Joseph launches a collection that pays an homage to British artist David Hockney.
This season, the Joseph woman reveals her artistic temperament through a defiant clash of pattern and palette. Picnic ginghams, polka dots, and parasol stripes unabashedly invigorate classic silhouettes taking a woman’s personal style to a new form and function. In addition, the painterly palette—lawn green, cobalt, dandelion yellow—causes a bigger splash in this collection.
Following the release of the footwear collection last year, Joseph announces the launch of a dedicated handbag and leather goods collection. The series is an extension of the brand’s philosophies toward the uniform and modern habits of dressing.
“It started with the ease and honesty of your old-school bag, to take the highly functional and make it beautiful,” says creative director Louise Trotter. “With the new collection, each of the bags is like a modular system almost. Wallets, pouches, and hardware can be attached for personalization; tailored to life. There’s even a keychain in each to easily locate house keys.”
The collection, composed of a satchel, bowling, and wrist-held styles, is expertly made in Italy using fine leathers. Some designs are also available in the specially developed fabrics shown in the pre-spring/summer 2018 collection.
Selected styles from the collection are available at Joseph stores located at L1 SM Aura Premier and L1 S Maison at the Conrad Hotel.
