“The earlier they are informed and educated, the better to be able to alleviate and diminish their apprehension on both CMTA and TRAIN,” new BoC Subic district collector Fidel Villanueva IV said.

“In sync with our slogan ‘Ease of Doing Business with Subic Customs,’ we want to immediately inform and educate our partners on the effect and impact of the new laws,” he added.

The lecture will be held in coordination with the Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority, Villanueva said.

Last Friday, BOC Commissioner Isidro Lapeña and SBMA Chairman and Administrator Wilma T. Eisma spearheaded the viewing of three illegal shipments here seized by the Port of Subic for violations of Customs laws.

The confiscated shipments consisted of Thailand white rice, Vespa scooters, and luxury liquors with an aggregate value of P80 million, BoC-Subic said.
