BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya—The provincial government and the National Irrigation Administration have allocated P45 million to repair and improve various Communal Irrigation Projects in the province.
Engineer Roland Apaga, NIA provincial chief, said the fund was raised through the P27 million counterpart of the provincial government and P18 million from the NIA, which will be used to roll out the “Balikatan Sagip Patubig Program.”
“This will benefit eight communal irrigation projects in our province through the implementation of their repair and improvement to further boost agricultural production among farmers,” he said.
The target CIPs are the Paitan Communal Irrigation System and Poac Barobbob CIS in Bayombong town, Lower Calitlitan CIS,Tucanon CIS, Tucanon Smal Water Impounding System in Aritao town, Allay Nangcalapan CIS in Bambang town and the Limmansangan CIS and Lower Sisi CIS in Kasibu town.
An agreement was also forged between the provincial government and NIA for the BSPP implementation, which supports food sufficiency through irrigation development that in turn promotes participation and complementation of resources, in the spirit of devolution.
