The company owned by conglomerate Ayala Corp. has taken a stronger stance to combat child pornography by blocking websites and related content as stipulated under Republic Act 9775, or the Anti-Child Pornography Act of 2009.

“As a purpose-led organization, we have a responsibility to ensure that our products and services will not be used for illegal activities. Globe Telecom is strongly committed to help address child pornography in the country,” Globe senior vice president for corporate communications Yolanda Crisanto said.

She said the company would actively look out for illegal sites with vulgar content involving children.

Globe has also taken an active role in promoting legitimate sources of online content.
