“We continue to focus on what we can do better as a team to continue our improvement,” said NLEX coach Yeng Guiao.

With the addition of No. 2 overall pick Kiefer Ravena and the continued rise of backcourt generals Kevin Alas and Alex Mallari, the Road Warriors are expected to be an even more dangerous team as they look to get over the hump this coming season and be recognized as a contender.

After abysmal performances in the first two conferences last season, NLEX bounced back strong in the third conference and held the tournament lead for some parts before settling for a fifth-place finish.

The Road Warriors, who are already one month into their preparation, had several key pre-season wins the past couple of weeks.

NLEX has cheduled games on Dec. 20 and 25, while the league opens its 43rd season this Sunday.

Meanwhile, teams around the league continue their training camp as well as the season fast approaches.

In a tune-up game yesterday, improved Blackwater pulled off a 98-89 victory over Governors’ Cup champion Barangay Ginebra at the Upper Deck Gym in Pasig City.
