Negros Occ. unveils P10.9-m road project

BACOLOD CITY—A P10.9-million road in Murcia, Negros Occidental funded by the provincial government’s special local road fund was inaugurated Thursday.

Governor Alfredo Marañon Jr. led the inauguration and the unveiling of the marker of the 900-meter Murcia-Granada road project in Barangay Blumentritt to be officially called the Ming Yuan Avenue.

The area is the site of the Catholic Ming Yuan College in Hacienda Binitin donated by the family of Mayor Andrew Montelibano.

Marañon expressed his thanks to all who made the project possible as he urged those who will benefit from it to give thanks for all the blessings the province has received through the years.

He also hoped that the project will be put to good use especially for the students of Catholic Ming Yuan College.

Montelibano thanked the governor and the provincial government for the realization of the project.

Rev. Fr. Stephen Lu expressed his gratitude to both the provincial and municipal governments for the fulfillment of the project, and thanked the Montelibano family for donating the land. PNA
