Federal Land Inc. provides venue for female sculptor’s award-winning design

Prime real estate developer, Federal Land Inc. recently joined the Metrobank Foundation, Inc. (MBFI) in recognizing a new batch of talented artists who topped the 2017 Metrobank Art & Design Excellence (MADE), an annual tradition of celebrating Filipino artistry.

This year, Federal Land Inc. brings its commitment to Filipino design excellence to a higher level as it endeavors to transform one of the five finalists of the MADE Sculpture Recognition Program into a public art installation to be placed at the rotunda of Metro Park, the company’s 40-hectare township in the Bay Area of Pasay City.

Federal Land Inc. President Pascual M. Garcia III said, “The idea of using one of the finalists of the MADE sculpture into public art came from our desire to have a venue to celebrate the importance of integrating arts and culture in living spaces.  We want to bring art closer to the public as it aids in promoting values that define us as Filipinos and strengthening our sense of community as well as our identity as a nation.”

One of the artworks being considered for this is that of Moreen Joy Austria, who was given the Grand Award by this year’s MADE distinctive Board of Judges for the Sculpture Recognition Program, headed by Ramon G. Orlina.

Austria, a Bacolod City-based sculptor, was recognized for her artwork entitled Pagtaguyod, a sculpture fabricated from stainless steel to form human figures of a family supporting each other as they rise.

Federal Land Inc. commits to continue supporting the cause of MBFI and MADE in empowering artists across the country and raising the general public’s appreciation of the arts.
