BALANGA CITY, Bataan—The provincial government of Bataan has distributed 16 carabaos and nine Brahman cattle to residents of three coastal villages of Bagac and in an upland sitio of Morong to help them with their livelihood.
The distribution, facilitated by the Provincial Veterinary Office at the capitol compound, was spearheaded by Vice Governor Cris Garcia, who represented Governor Abet Garcia.
“The provincial government of Bataan is expanding the animal dispersal program. We want you to feel what the government is doing for you,” the vice governor told the beneficiaries and their barangay officials.
“We at the Sangguniang Panlalawigan will support any legislation needed for this kind of program, and approve the required budget of the Provincial Veterinary Office”, Garcia also said with Board Member Peping Villapando present.
The vice governor even suggested to Provincial Veterinary Office to establish a hotline to assist beneficiaries and the public in general.
Provincial Veterinarian Dr. Alberto Cruz explained that the distribution of cattle and carabaos to the coastal villages of Quinawan, Paysawan and Binuangan in Bagac town and in the upland Sitio of Kanawan, Binaritan, Morong is part of Governor Garcia’s program of improving the plight of the local folks under the strategic initiative of his office.
“Governor Garcia personally went to your areas to see your actual condition”, Cruz told the recipients.
The governor allocated P1 million for the program.
“The animals given to you must produce offspring, and then we will give them to other villagers for the continuity of the program. We will also provide you with vitamins and medicine for the animals,” he said.
