BAGUIO CITY—Five sanitary landfills will be made operational across the Cordillera region to effectively and efficiently address the garbage disposal issues and concerns of local governments by the end of this year.
Reynaldo S. Digamo, Director of the Cordillera office of the Environment Management Bureau, said four landfills are already operational and the fifth will start operating by December to help in improving the region’s garbage disposal efforts in compliance with Republic Act 9003 or the Ecological Solid Waste Management Act.
