SM Foundation, the social responsibility arm of the SM Group of Companies, continues to dispense medical and dental services to communities around SM malls and stores across the country to show care to the populations it serves.
In Luzon, medical missions were recently conducted in SM City Naga, SM City Molino, SM City Valenzuela, Baiphil-Bayambang in Pangasinan, SM City Marilao, SM City Baliwag, SM City San Jose del Monte, SM City Rosales, SM City Baguio, Barangays Papaya and Looc in Nasugbu, Batangas, and SM City Calamba.
The missions also went to SM City Bacoor, SM City Rosario, SM City San Fernando, SM City Cauayan, SM City Batangas, SM City Cabanatuan, SM City Tarlac, Barangay Calayo, Nasugbu, SM City Lucena, SM City San Pablo, SM City Dasmarinas, SM City Sta. Rosa, and SM City Trece Martirez.
In the Visayas, SM Foundation has conducted 11 medical missions so far this year, benefitting 10,852 individuals. These missions were conducted at SM Seaside City Cebu, SM City Consolacion, SM City Bacolod, SM City Iloilo, SM City Cebu, and at the Deca Home in Minglanilla, Cebu.
Currently, the Foundation’s medical team is in Mindanao, specifically in Cagayan de Oro City, with more areas in the region on its schedule.
In all these missions, patients undergo bone density scanning, chest x-ray, ECG, dental services, laboratory exams, and medical consultation free of charge, along with free medicines and vitamins.
Volunteer medical professionals from local government units, medical societies and dental associations, and private practitioners were on hand to dispense free medical consultations, and to check the dental health of the beneficiaries plus give them advice on proper oral hygiene.
