TANAUAN, Batangas—Two young Tanaueño who brought honor to the country from an international competition received more recognition from the Sangguniang Panglungsod on Monday.
Through a resolution filed by City Councilor Herman G. Trinidad, the City Government praised Dalton Emanuel D. Mojica and Veronica G. Ocampo, residents of Tanauan City, for winning bronze medals in the International Math Open for Young Achievers (IMOYA) from Sept. 1 to 4 at the United World College Dover Campus in Singapore.
Both Mojica and Ocampo are Grade 10 students of De La Salle University in Lipa City. They were part of the team from the Philippines in Mathematics, Science and Sudoku Competitions and were assisted by the Mathematics Trainers’ Guild Philippines.
City Mayor Anthony Halili said: “This is a great honor for our countrymen. With the students we have, these kids will bring more honor to our country, and we are proud of them.”
