Advertising executive Normita L. Evangelista, a former mayor and vice mayor of Candaba, Pampanga, has taken on a new challenge.
“Babes,” as Evangelista is fondly called, has witnessed the seriousness of air pollution and other environmental concerns in her town and province during her stint in the local government. Now that she is out of government, she has embarked on a campaign for clean air and environment.
Back in circulation in the local advertising world through Medialine, the advertising agency she founded and serves as its chief executive officer, Evangelista has joined a team introducing in the market a fuel additive that assures motorists of less toxic emission of their vehicles, thereby helping maintain clean air and environment.
The product is Xp3, produced by a company in San Diego, California and exclusively distributed in Asia, including the Philippines, by FuelDirect. Besides its less toxic emission, Xp3 improves combustion, increases engine power, reduces fuel consumption, reduces corrosion, and stabilizes light and heavy oils.
Evangelista and her team have been going around provincial capitals in Luzon and various offices of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources-Environment Management Bureau to conduct product demonstations of Xp3.
Two months ago, they held a demo at the DENR-EMB Office of Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Officer, Engr. Art F. Punzalan, in the City of San Fernando, and at the King’s Royale Hotel and Resort in Bacolor, Pampanga.
Later, they went to Bicol to introduce Xp3 to Albay Gov. Art Bichara and some construction firms in Legaspi City.
In April this year, they conducted a test demo at the DENR main office in Quezon City. The DENR-EMB has already released the results of the demo signed by Jacqueline A. Caancan, in-charge, Office of the Director and concurrent Assistant Director of the EMB.
Clean air and environment is a national concern in the face of climate change, “the universal phenomenon that has brought nations all over the world together,” Evangelista said. Even President Rodrigo Duterte, in his second State of the Nation Address, discussed climate change as he urged all government agencies to act on the problem.
The DENR recently hosted the 28th Meeting of ASEAN Senior Officials on the Environment in the City of Manila. Among the environmental concerns taken up were climate change, transboundary haze pollution, nature conservation and biodiversity, and environmental education.
Evangelista said she is just doing her share in keeping the air and environment clean by introducing Xp3 to the market.
“As Environment Secretary Roy A. Cimatu emphasizes, the problem of air pollution can be mitigated through community efforts with every one contributing to ensure clean air and environment,” she said.
