CLARK FREEPORT—Driving inside this traffic-discipline economic zone, one must follow the rules and regulations and have a valid driver’s license or face arrest, regardless of the driver’s status and gender.
A 27-year-old woman found this out too late after she was nabbed by Clark security guards while trying to escape the scene of the crime on Sunday.
The Public Safety Division of the Clark Development Corp. identified the woman as Lalaine Ortiz, of Bagain St., Sta. Veronica, Guimba, Nueva Ecija.
Initial investigation showed Ortiz was driving her white utility vehicle with plate number AMA 7809 through the intersection of Creek and Centennial roads when she hit a motorcycle with two persons on board.
However, instead of helping the victims, Ortiz fled the scene toward Gil Puyat highway, where she was arrested. It turned out she was driving without a valid driver’s license.
The victims, who suffered bruises and other injuries, were identified as Michael Angelo Laxamana, 25, and Vilma Lasvinia, both from Mexico, Pampanga.
They were given first aid by paramedics who arrived a few minutes after the incident, and brought the victims to Mabalacat City hospital for further treatment.
The CDC urged motorists to observe traffic rules and regulations while driving inside the Freeport because they are being monitored by several cameras spread out inside.
CDC police are preparing charges against Ortiz for reckless imprudence resulting to multiple injuries and damages to property.
