ORANI, Bataan—The Orani Water District conducted on Saturday its sixth annual planting activity in Tala watershed in Barangay Tala, Orani.
“An additional10,000 tibig trees were planted,” said OWD general manager Benni Andres.
The planting activity attracted several environment advocates from many sectors.
“We are happy for the success of the event,” the general manager said. “We have already planted 60,000 trees in Tala watershed.”
In celebrating its anniversary every February for the past six years, OWD has been sponsoring fun runs for a cause to raise fund for the reforestation program.
“We have to protect and preserve our source of water by reforesting watershed areas,” Andres pointed out.
The reforestation program of OWD covering 28 hectares watershed area, which is part of Bataan National Park, has been attracting the support of volunteers from various sectors.
