For the entire month of July, Habitat Manila presents an exclusive collection by young creative couple Soleil Ignacio and Kris Abrigo, under the new Habitat & design collaborations program.
Launched on June 28 in the Habitat Bonifacio Global City showroom, the collection includes pieces that portray the couple’s opposite but complementary styles, and a reimagining of their studio life, which mix everyday living with their artistic pursuits.
The collection is composed of illustrative prints, paintings and quirky art toys set in a micro studio vignette that the couple styled with Habitat furniture and accessories. It highlights the couple’s differing styles: hand-made paintings are hung alongside digital prints with bright pastels against cozy, muted colors. Soleil’s relaxed, organic, and laid-back elegance is a response to Kris’ sharp geometric lines and hard urban aesthetic.
Balance is achieved by complementing calm contrasts between each of their own unique personality and style of work. The inspiration for the curated space came from the couple’s experiences in living and working together in a small art studio for 4 years in a crowded city in Manila. They mix and match artworks and furniture; the softness and warmth of plants combined with hard and quirky concrete sculptures.
The exhibit, the first under the Habitat& design collaborations program, also highlights the sophistication and versatility of Habitat furniture and accessories when placed alongside highly creative work. “For us, design is a lifestyle,” says Habitat director Walter Lim. “Artistry and personal style is expressed most comfortably in our homes and most private spaces.
“We are delighted that Soleil and Kris are sharing a part of their personal story through this beautiful collection, featuring Habitat pieces that appeal to their excellent tastes.”
The art pieces will be made available by Soleil and Kris exclusively through Habitat Bonifacio Global City for the entire month.
“We look forward to having more collaborations with original minds through the Habitat& design program,” says Lim. “We are proud to host wonderful works that complement the furniture and decor in our flagship Habitat store. We’re excited to work with more emerging talents and giving them a venue to showcase their work alongside a well-established European home brand.”
Habitat Manila is located on the 3rd Level of Abenson, beside The Ascott Residence, at the corner of 5th Avenue and 28th Street, Bonifacio Global City, Taguig.
