Ryan Jaworki, son of the former Ginebra player-coach Sonny Jaworksi, was just so candid when he answered a friend’s query on social media about his father’s favorite teams and players.

It turned out Ryan, a professional chef, and his father cheered for the same team in the just concluded National Basketball Association (NBA) Finals won by the Golden State Warriors, 4-1, against the Lebron James-led Cleveland Cavaliers.

With Kevin Durant and Stephen Curry leading the way, the Warriors beat the Cavs at home, 129-120 in Game 5 of their Best of Seven series.

“Panalo na GOLDEN STATE,” said Ryan on his Facebook post.

US-based Benjie Russel, one of the admins of the Facebook community JAWONATICS FOREVER, made the first comment and went on to ask Ryan.

“What are the teams your Dad if there’s any rooted for (in the NBA)… I’m sure you have observed him watch (the recent) NBA finals.”

Ryan, with all honesty mentioned the names Golden State Warriors, Lakers and the Celtics as his father’s favorites in the NBA.

“He usually sides with the teams which play as a team. Or players with good attitude. Humble yet effective. Ayaw kasi ni dad yung mayayabang na player or mapagsarili. Team player dapat diba…”

The elder Jaworski, who was then dubbed the Living Legend of the PBA, was known for his never-say-die spirit that he ingrained in the Ginebra team that has become the most popular basketball club in the land.

Jaworski is also known for taking second-rate players, as well as those past their prime, to form a rag-tag squad and mold them to become a championship-caliber unit.

Ryan also name Stephen Curry as one of his father’s preferred players.

“Dad has a lot of praises for that guy. Ako din. Very smart player, humble, and you know with the way he plays that he loves basketball.”

Russel was satisfied with the answer and said “Salamat (Thank you), salamat , salamat Ryan Jaworski  .”
