SUBIC, Zambales—The Rotary Club of Quezon City District 3780 has supported the environmental care project of Redondo Peninsula Energy Inc. in Barangay Cawag, this town.

Outgoing Rotary of Club of Quezon City President Mike Enriquez, club incoming president Bong Fernando, and club secretary Pocholo Jaymalin joined about 200 students of Kinabuksan Integrated School and other volunteers in the Cawag coastal cleanup on Saturday.

Sacks of recyclable, biodegradable, and residual garbage were collected from the coast of Sitio Kinabuksan, Cawag. The coastal cleanup was the second tranche of the energy company’s “Protect the Bay Initiative” program. The trash collected by students were exchanged with school supplies.

Representatives of Rotaract Downtown Olongapo also joined the cleanup. “We are glad that Rotary Club of Quezon has joined us in this noble environmental care project,” said Litz Santana, vice president and head of External Affairs of Meralco PowerGen Corp.
