TEAM COCOLIFE made a classic comeback to capture the championship against Goto Pilipinas following an 82-77 win in their winner-take-all finals in the Passion Division of the Brotherhood Basketball League ‘WCA Travel Cup’ at the Trinity University of Asia Gym in Quezon City.
The Congee Masters of Jhong Castaneda took control of the game as they steered the team to a double-digit spread in first three quarters before the Underwriters of team manager Joseph Ronquillo patiently chopped the advantage halfway through the final period and took the upperhand at 76-75, with 3:04 remaining in the game.
The game’s best player Tolits Natividad combined forces with inside operator Mark Lagrimas, Popoy Banzali, Francis Camacho, Otep Ronquillo and Tristan Bradley’s sticky defense to neutralize the vaunted run and gun play by Goto Pilipinas en route to Cocolife’s first major cage title.
The tournament was organized by BBL president-founder Erick Kirong of Macway Travel and presented by World Cruisers Adventures Travel and Tours, headed by CEO Engr. Joven Diaz.
