Vivant venturing into solar projects

Listed company Vivant Corp. said wholly-owned subsidiary Vivant Energy Corp. and a partner is venturing into the solar rooftop business.

Vivant said in a disclosure to the stock exchange it signed a shareholders agreement with  ET Energy Pilipinas Holding Corp. to form a joint venture company that would develop rooftop solar installations on commercial and industrial sites in the Philippines.

“VEC shall own 60 percent, while ETPHC shall own 40 own equity in the JVC,” Vivant said.

Vivant is majority controlled by the Garca-Escano family of Cebu.

The company has equity investments in Cebu Private Power Corp., owner of the 70-megawatt diesel-fired power plant in Cebu and Cebu Energy Development Corp., which owns the 246-MW coal-fired power plant in Toledo City.
