President Rodrigo Duterte has signed the executive order that grants an additional P 1,000 to pensioners of the Social Security System (SSS).
This was announced by Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea in Malacañang.

Medialdea said they immediately prepared the document for the President’s signing, after learning that SSS Chairman Amado Valdez could not implement the pension hike, as he was still awaiting the signal from the Chief Executive.
He also refuted speculations that the SSS pension increase is being blocked by some members of the President’s cabinet.
