Barangay Ginebra is gearing up for a new battle as the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) unfolds with the 2017 Philippine Cup on Sunday at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
The Kings have been practicing twice a day at Upper Deck Gym in Ortigas since getting back from vacation following its breast-pound comeback of a win over Meralco in the recent Governor’s Cup.
On Friday (Nov. 18), the Kings dusted off their championship hangover with a 102-81 drubbing of GlobalPort in a tune-up match at Upper Deck.
Old reliables Japeth Aguilar and Sol Mercado while rookie Kevin Ferrer showed off with nine points.
It was fine show of recovery for the Kings, who, five days ago, lost to Blackwater, 100-103, in a tune-up in Batangas.
Ginebra will open up its campaign in the All-Filipino tournament against TNT Ka Tropa on Nov. 27.
